Help! Duck not eating...

Ok so I have 2 male khaki Campbells, they are 2 1/2 yrs old. One of them is not eating the crumbles going on a week. I tried not giving him anything else, but he still refuses to eat the crumbles. So I have given him lettuce and Cheerios, which he has eaten. He seems fine, checked him over and don’t see anything going on. I am at a loss and don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am worried about my boy!

Do they forage at all?

Not really, they do a bit of digging in the mud, as their pen is compact dirt. I can’t let them out to forage in the summer due to fighting.

I think you know Cheerios are not very healthy for ducks it should only be a treat. Have you tried getting him to eat by mixing some oats into his feed?

No, quick oats? I only give the extra stuff as a treat, but he hadn’t eaten in days and I was worried

Whole oats or crimped oats (feed store for them and I bet he’d go for dried meal worms or dried other insects.

I will give that a try, I do have mealworms!

You could even try crunching it up and mixing it with his feed. What do you feed them?

Purina crumble, he won’t eat mealworms unless I put them in his pool

What a spoiled boy okay I’d just feed him his crumble and mealworms and just a small amount of Cheerios he needs to eat a well balanced diet.
