Help duck with open wound

Yikes, you need to sew that up with some sutures. I used to sew up birds after hawk attacks. If you don't it will be vulnerable to maggot infestation.

Yes, the wound is big. Wash in warm water with pickling salt twice a day. Sort of soak the wound. Dry and keep dry from all flies and pecking.

I would add - trim the feathers at least a half inch away from the edge of the wound - trim them to half an inch.

If trimming feathers ??? Note that feathers bleed. Do not trim if your unsure how too.
