IMG_6679.JPG IMG_6681.JPG IMG_6682.JPG Good morning, I have a duck egg that I thought pipped at the wrong end, but i candled it this morning and it looks like his beak is at the right end. But there is a pip and the wrong end and a red/orange colour circle
Any ideas?!??! It's day 28. He's a swedish pekin x

If you would like you can join the may hatch a long and I’m sure some can help you there hope this helps

I think ducks have been known to turn around last minute, even after pipping the wrong end (I could easily be mistaken though)

I'm not sure about the red circle thing, is that shown on the second pic? Inside of the egg?

You probably shouldn't be taking the egg out to candle now, especially now it has pipped. Put it back and make sure is your humidity is raised to about 70-75% and wait. They really do keep you waiting! @Pyxis or @WVduckchick will be able to offer you some more insight if they see this.

Yeah. The red circle is inside the egg

My temp is 99.5, 75% humidity. And I put a pin hole in the air cell. So I know he's getting air. He's beeping and moving in there. I've never seen a red/orange circular in an egg before

The reddish brown area looks like residue from where the air cell drew down, or it may have nicked a blood vessel and leaked a little blood. The pip looks in fine position, I don't see another pip on the wrong end.
How long has it been pipped? If its been less than 36-40 hours, I'd leave it be for a while. Keep the humidity up. 75% is good.

Good luck!
