hey, im new here, i just incubated my first proper batch off eggs. I have looked after ducklings loads of times before though.
Something went wrong in the incubation and out of 18 eggs only 3 hatched. The theird one i helped out the egg as the membrane had gone tough from low humidity. It took 3 days to get out the egg and by then the other 2 were strong and running around, healthy. The poor duckling has gotten the liquid from the egg all over its feathers and had gone completely hard and stuck to it. i wiped it with warm water and got it to fluff up. Last night it seemed to be getting better with its eyes open and trying to walk around and eat. This morning it looks terrible, it wont open its eyes, wont move or eat or drink, and just lies like its dead other than he weak breathing.
Is there anything i can do for the poor thing? ive tryed feeding it some raw egg witha dropper but it doesnt swalloe much and ends up blowing bubbles from its nostrils
Its an Indian runner dduckling btw, started hatching Saturday, eventually got out the egg on wednesday morning.
thanks so much for all your help in advance
