My 2 week old Buff duckling started acting strange all of a sudden. She started with constant head shaking. I thought maybe something was stuck. She only will take little sips of water. Her nostrils look clear and her ears seemed to be fine. My husband looked down her throat and didn’t see anything but he’s not sure what to look for. So now she is just unsettled and her mouth is constantly moving. Not really panting but more like she nibbling uncontrollably. She’s walking but lays down a lot.
My heart is breaking and I don’t know what’s going on. Im gonna go to Tractor Supply and get a B-complex with niacin as was suggested in an earlier post.
Yay or nay to this complex?
Could she have something in their?

Poops seem normal

That's good.

I read this today and it immediately came to mind, even more so when I saw the video -although that may be just because of me reading it today so it was fresh in my mind rather than anything else! I don't wish to alarm or upset you, but a quick read through of the symptoms will give you an idea of if it's a possibility or unlikely, and also anything to keep an eye out for.

Oh boy now that I read that I did notice that both of my babies poop have that white coating to them. I also cleaned up some watery white stuff. I forgot about that. I will watch closely to see who’s pooping what. She seems a bit more alert now and she drinking a little more. I mixed up some of the electrolyte/probiotics I had. Her mouth is still moving. I’m wondering if I should gently use a Q-tip and try to dislodge anything?
Can I give her a little vegetable oil or something else to help if something is in her throat ?

I probably wouldn't unless there were something obvious that you could see or it would most likely cause problems to just go poking around in there. I think although it mentions the mouth movement if there was an obstruction it would be further along the digestive tract to be able to find yourself anyway.

I'm not sure about the veggie oil as a substitution for the mineral oil I'm afraid, but I'm sure someone could advise. I'd give the electrolytes you have and give them a swim in warm water myself, while I was waiting for someone else to help - that way you aren't doing anything that will do any harm, and if it does some good then even better!
