It is okay to use milk replacer..... On your roses... ha ha ha...

I lost a few to milk replacer and then I learned to use Cow's milk... haven't lost any in years... My vet and I raise a lot of goats and she is strictly a goat vet... She gave me the heads up on what the replacer was good for.... I hated to throw it away but she said it is good for the roses and it should never be used on very young goats... There are instances where it works but not on the younguns. Not enough colostrum sure makes sense... it is terrible to get so scared with a baby goat....they sound just like children... Sending good vibes your way for the baby!!! You keep us posted and a picture would sure be nice when everything straightens itself out....

I hope that baby is okay! Good job taking him on to the vet!!! Keep us posted on how he does on the goat milk and stuff!!

He is pretty much the same as when I last posted. I am getting about 3 ounces every three hours down him now. I gave him a little bit of yogurt a little over an hour ago. He is still very weak though. I am still very worried about him. He is peeing a little bit but not as much as usually which may be because I couldn't get any food down him until around 4 today. Please pray hard that he will make it through the night ok.

Is he crying when he pees? Or straining? Look up Urinary Calculi...might not be the problem but it won't hurt to check.

And our little guy didn't want to eat as a baby. We finally got him to take his bottle by squatting and holding the bottle upside down between
our legs(aim the nipple toward the back so he comes up from behind). Made him think he was nursing. It worked! Looks funny though!

He made it through the night and he is peeing his usual amount now too. He walked around for a few minutes too. He us still very weak though. The new thing I have to contend with is it sounds like he has a little fluid in his lungs from laying around so much. I am going to try to get him up and walking around as much as possible today without wearing him out to much.

Oh yea I just realized that I never gave all of you his name, it is Issac.
