help dying goat!!!!!!!!

For energy, you can give him a dose of Vitamin B complex that comes in the syringe for horses. If you can't find that, get a bottle of Vit B complex pills from the dollar store, crush one up and put it in his milk. You will be amazed how quickly he gets back on his feet.

Thanks everyone. He is fighting. Pride&Joy I will call if I need anything. Thanks. Pray that he keeps improving and doesn't go back the other way.

I doubt the kid has Floppy Kid...I think it was the cows milk. He needed goats milk or milk replacer that is either made for kids or is a universal replacer.

I hope the goats milk does the trick for you. I'm glad you took him to the vet I hope he pulls through for you. I'll hold good thoughts...good luck.

I doubt it was the cow's milk. PLENTY of people -- myself included -- have raised goat kids on cow's milk with no problems whatsoever.

Indeed, lots of folks switch to whole storebought cow's milk after scouring a few to death, or close to it, on milk replacer..

May the force be with you Isaac.

I have good news. Issac pooped!!!!!!!!!! A lot. It was very, very liquidy but it is poop and he hasn't pooped for nearly 3 days. The vet said that when he starts to poop his digestive tract is starting to work again. He is exhausted now because he was walking around and pooping for like half an hour. I rubbed his belly while he was going and that seemed to help get some out. I hope that this is a sign that he is getting better. I am still worried about the little bit of pneumonia I think he has developed (his breathing sounds like there may be some fluid in his lungs), but I am hopeful that getting him to move around a little will solve that. I was also able to get about 18cc of yogurt down him.

The pneumonia is getting worse. He is half-coughing and his breathing is gurgling. Now what? We were making progress and now he looks bad again. I don't want to lose my baby!
