Help! Egg is crumbling away and chick isn't ready!

Will my broody hen still accept it after it's born? She's still sitting on two other eggs

I'm just learning all about broodys! I'm on my third broody in 3 months (Silkie's, of course) and I think she will. Just slip it under her from behind and keep an eye on her. I think it will be fine.

Ya, there's a good chance she will. A lot of time it just depends on the hen herself.

She's been really good so far. I was really hoping I cold just let nature take its course.

Adding the chick back to her at night is also a good idea. Your hen and the chick will be much more settled and quiet when it's dark. Only in the last week a couple of new members wanted to do this. They added the chicks at night and had good results with the hen accepting the chicks.

Good luck.

I'm interested to see what happens to this baby!! I've been following along.

Thanks I'll keep you all updated! Right now he/she is quietly sleeping in the homemade brooded box.

Update - still hanging out in there. The other eggs haven't hatched either yet. Today is either day 20 Or 21, so we could have a while yet to wait.

Help again! Now the hole is bigger like it's trying to come out, but it's bloody! Is this normal? I haven't touched it. It is peeping and moving around
