Help - egg or strange thing passed - is my chicken okay? PICS

They are soft shelled or shell-less eggs. While she is a new layer, you stated she was laying normal eggs for a couple of weeks. Do they have access to enough calcium? You can add oyster shell to the coop, use a high calcium layer feed, and crush and feed egg shells back to them. I would also buy BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds - in the shell) and feed them. They are very healthy for them.

Do the birds get to free range? They will find what they need nutritionally if they can free range at least for a bit each day.

Yes, my chickens free range all day in our backyard. We have a smallish yard, but there are only four pullets, so they get lots of grass and bugs. I have seen them eating snails, shell and all too. Plus they do have access to oyster shell, however it never really looks like they eat any.

The regular eggs we get are very hard shelled.

Once again, thanks everyone for the support!

I'm having the same problem!!!!! My young hen about 18 months has been laying those squah looking eggs! :-< she has laid 2 now... The first one looked like an oversized clear booger grape and the second one looks identical to your "squash" looking photo with the shell at one end and the egg white at the other... I'm freaked out and very concerned for her!! She is totally free range all day and gets only the best of the best nutrition :-< HELLLPPPPPP !!!
