Anything I should be worried about and look for at this point?I hope that she does okay, and glad that you got the egg out of her. Let us know how she gets along.

Ok, yeah, that I know, was wondering if anything else. I think with all the oil, I all congealed together. I had my finger inside also assisting it out, trying to protect the wall as it exitedGlad you got the egg out. But crushing the shell can risk lacerations as the pieces of shell are either extracted or she pushes them out. If lacerations occur in that area where poop with lots of bacteria passes, infection can occur very quickly.
To be safe, I recommend giving her a round of an oral antibiotic, whatever you might have on hand.
ow, that hole was really tight, it wasn’t giving at all. I didn’t want to have to break it, but it’s been just under 24hours and my chicken vet isn’t in til MondayWhen this happens at a bet’s office, they will remove the egg with a vacuum. I would give her some antibiotic just to be safe. Amoxicillin 125-250 mg twice daily (fish mox or aqua mox online) or other may help.
Oh, I’ve got augmentin 875 tabs…how much of,thatow, that hole was really tight, it wasn’t giving at all. I didn’t want to have to break it, but it’s been just under 24hours and my chicken vet isn’t in til Monday
That sounds good, keep us updatedI ended up having to poke a hole in the egg and drained it. Gave her cal citrate, and put her in a crate to rest to see if she passed it. She did not, so I ended up crushing the egg (after putting a ton of mineral oil up in here) and was able to assist her in passing the whole thing. She’s eaten some blueberries and pooped once, a little blood in it, but after all that, I’m sure it’s expected. I’ll let her rest in here and hopefully be able to,put her back out with the rest tomorrow
And thank you for updating! She’s doing great and back out with her flock. Thanks y’all for your help!
