Help eggs look good smell rotten

I was hoping someone could please help me out... I have a RIR that started laying two weeks ago. Her eggs look fine, normal size, normal shell, the yolk is a bit on the yellow side and they are terrible! They smell like rotting meat and taste is about the same. She isn't acting sick at the moment but could that cause it? What is going on with her? Everyone else has great eggs.

Perhaps she's eating something that she shouldn't that's giving them an awful taste. Do they free range? @lazy gardener was it you that knew a little while ago why someone else's eggs tasted awful? There was a particular plant that was causing the unpleasant taste.

Possible she has an internal infection. I really have no idea. One poster some time ago had a flock who's eggs were all nasty. Had a "strong chemical" flavor. Poster found out that it was b/c of wood chips that were used in the run. The chips were designed to be used under a child's gym set and were treated with a flame retardant. Yep. That's what I'd want my kids playing on!!!

does wild onion or garlic do that ? Something they are being stored with?

It's called trimethylamine and it's when the hen ingests, canola, flaxseed or rapeseed. Choline chloride which is in most feed will not produce the fishy smell.(or at least diminish it) . Does that sound like a similar problem? Or is the taste completely different to 'fishy'?

How are you storing the eggs?..Do you mean the fresh laid eggs are horrid or the ones Your storing?....I think I'm confused?..

Many feeds (especially no soy) are using more & more canola meal & flax meal. They have bred sex links for commercial operations that do not have a problem with this, but I would imagine it is a crap shoot with regular brown layers. If this is not the problem, I would imagine they have to be eating something else that is making them taste bad. Good luck figuring it out!
