Will the air cells rise to the big end when the egg is held upright? If so, you may want to try hatching them in an egg carton bottom. You can put them in the carton upright, and prop up one end of the carton. When it's time to turn them, lower that end, and raise the other end. When I did that, I just picked up the carton and tuned it around. That way, your air cell will stay at the large end where it belongs, and maybe those chicks will be able to hatch normally. Otherwise, you air cell will probably be on the side. I don't know how detrimental that would be.

I meant to add earlier, the eggs in my turner are placed upright, then the turner slowly tilts from one side to the other. They never go all the way horizontal, they only tilt to about 22 degrees, before they start to go back the other direction. So if you used a carton bottom it would be about the same degree of movement, hopefully keeping the detached air cell in the big end.
