Help!! EMERGENCY!! :( Doomed egg?

Make a small hole in the large end of the egg, so that the baby can get air. Work your way from that hole, removing small bits of shell at a time. If you see blood, stop immediately. Keep a wet paper towel on hand to make sure that the membrane stays moist, and try to work in a warm environment.

I use the small blade of a pocketknife. Once, in an emergency, I used a pen (the egg was crushed by momma hen and I needed to get the baby put because he was almost dead and there was no other thing to use)

Just be gentle and keep it moist!!! I do think if its day 22 its probably just working its way out.

Sorry I missed your PMs but been away at family wedding. Can you give us all an update. Firstly check the egg;

1. WHERE IS THE AIR CELL LOCATED?

2. HOLD THE EGG TO YOUR EAR - IS THE CHICK STILL MAKING A REGULAR FAINT CLICKING NOISE?
