Hello, I have been hatching chicks in an incubator. I just had one hatch a little bit ago, and it looked normal besides the shrink wrapped wing. I had two chicks in with this one and they kept pecking at the chick's umbilical cord. Then I looked in again and it looked like this. What do I do?

Don't panic. That just looks like the chick stuck to the lining of the shell as it hatched. First - take the other chicks out. If they're active enough to be pecking the newcomer, they're likely fine to go under your brooder light. Leave the youngster in question in the incubator until it dries off, but don't try to move it. You can snip the bigger piece off at the larger shell without hurting the chick. Leave the little piece stuck to it's bottom for now. If it doesn't come off while the chick moves around, you can use a little warm water to soak it off once the baby is dry. Good Luck!

Thank you. I was worried it was the intestine. The shell fell off on its own

Thank you everyone for the help! I still am waiting on 5 eggs to hatch. I haven't noticed any activity yet. Any suggestions on these?

Unfortunately, she passed last night. It looked like she absorbed the yolk but there was intestine outside her body.
