HELP! Extreme eye Infection? Chorzya? Cholera? Injury!

Excellent! FYI, all pus smells bad :D, so it doesn't mean she has Coryza. Not saying she doesn't have something like Coryza, just saying that the smell could just be from the pus.

Three years ago the feed store had a peahen with a sinus infection, but here's has so bad that she couln't eat, so I offered to treat her.

Day 1 - I started by removing as much of the stinky pus as possible, then I gave her a shot of Baytril and tube fed her.

Day 2 - Went back to the store and she was still alive and looking a little better, but still had pus, so I dug more out, gave another Baytril shot and tube fed again.

I think it only took a few more days of this and the she made a complete recovery. Who knows what it was, but whatever it was was did not affect the other birds housed with her.

Thanks Kathy, good news on both counts! I don't see any other hens sick (knock on wood). I'll keep her separated till she seems better.and if no one else is sick I'll release her and sing praises! Lol thanks so much for your support!

Krittertic so glad to hear she is on the road to recovery - good for you to keep after it.

Thanks to everyone for the support. Ya'all gave me courage not to give up! Few more days of meds and she back with the flock. She is definitely feeling better, tries to escape when I change her water! Eating normal too!

Wow, didn't see this thread in its early stages, but what a remarkable story. And oh my, that glob of pus you finally coaxed out is HUGE!

She looks to feel much better now, the color in her face looks better too. Hope she continues going in the right direction for you.
