Don't use vitamins unless their is a need. just food and water should do.

no need for vitamins...unless your chicks are struggling. Then you can actually buy a powder supplement that also has electrolytes to add to the water. I've used it on occasion and it really helps "pick the birds up" You can buy it at any large farm and barn type store.

I have never raised ratites but when I was in college nearly 20 years ago we covered them (animal science major) and most of the farms back then fed dog food. They were a huge fad back then and people were paying crazy money for emu's and then the market crashed and people were giving them away or just turning them loose! Emu hunts all over Texas!
