Isn't Pakistan what was once Persia along with part of Iraq?

After the British power was overthrown, Pakistan and India were split based on prevailing religion (Hindu-Muslim), with Kashmir (administered by India, Pakistan, and China). Bangladesh (East Pakistan) was later split from Pakistan after the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971.

Reason I ask is I met a guy that said he was Persian and insisted he was from Persia. I asked where that was and he said Pakistan, was he right? He kept insisting he was Persian though and never really gave a good reason for why he called himself a Persian. I didn't really care either way but it got me wondering if some Pakistanis consider themselves Persians??? or Indian???

Pakistanis are quite proud of their country! Persian people are from Iran and there's a big population that's located in Pakistan. So your friend could be a Persian who lives in Pakistan.

Amb3r, don't be sorry, your comments have been pretty good.. just because we might not fully agree doesn't mean I don't appreciate what you have to say. hemet denis, those billboards I have not seen myself either. I have heard them referenced several times. It's usually done in areas where our president is unpopular such as Mississippi or Louisiana(at least I imagine). I live in a pretty left leaning city so such billboards wouldn't stand. There's always going to be a smart alecs for every point of view. I'm sure if we wanted to stir up trouble we could pick and prod at ole Romney. I kid, though, not what I'm trying to do.
