I am incubating 15 Buff Orpington eggs in my classroom using a hovabator with the air circulating fan and humidity tray under the wire mesh. Day 21 was this past Thursday evening (March 14). Candeling has show 13 developing and moving chicks. I removed the automatic turner and have filled both the water trays (though not completely just about mid way). Late last night (Friday, March 15th) we started to see egg wobbling from one egg. At about 1:30 AM we started to hear cheeping. I stayed awake all night (until 6am) and heard cheeping off and on throughout the rest of the night. This morning when I came in to check, I have one egg that has started to pip. A pretty decent size hole in one side and cracked maybe 2/3' around. However, I have not heard cheeping since I arrived this morning. Do you think this egg will continue to hatch? I know you are not supposed to help them hatch. Is it too late for other eggs to begin hatching??

The egg still has a chance of hatching, it's just taking a break! Many eggs will continue to hatch all the way up to day 25 of the incubation cycle! PM me with any questions you may have!
