Help! first time hatching!

And that would not work for calls since they only take 26 days.
You know what I mean, lol. My pea eggs hatch in 26-27 days, so they get moved to the hatcher earlier than other breeders move theirs.

Back to what this forum was about. All those babies. I'm curious when they went into the tub how noisy did they get?? And did you carry them individually. Lol if so did the first one make tons of noise because he was alone and settle down once the second one joined him or did you grab a group of them?? Lol
The babies are what this thread is about, but I would hate for people to read this and think that duck eggs *have* to be incubated on their sides. You have a way that works for you, and I'm not knocking that, but commercial hatcheries incubate fat end up from day one to the day they move to a hatching tray.

Yes whenever one gets separated it peeps it's little head off, and putting him in the tub was no different. We started one by one, but eventually switched to 2 at a time. They were excited and once they calmed down they started darting back and forth in the tub. I did notice, once I started getting them out, they were slobbering when they shook their beaks, but I had seen this before with previous ducklings.

Ok!!! Thanks my females are sitting on their neat it is day 6 I am pretty sure, and I want to know everything so I am prepared!!

Is it ok for my females to get up and hang outside for like twenty minutes? For the eggs? Or should I not allow that?

https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 this is an awesome read if you havent already. i have learned so much fr the learning center tab. i didnt even realize it existed until a few weeks ago. and yes if they are broody and able to go back to their nest (not locked out) then they will.

Thanks! I hope that it will help me! It is only day 6 and I went To touch the eggs and they could be hand warmers they were so hot!! If it is my females first clutch ever do you think hey will have a good chance at hatching? And I live in Wisconsin and I am worried that the humidity is happening at all. So any suggestions?

Remember to wash your hand before you handle the eggs.
