Help! first time hatching!

Best to put it somewhere easy to access, in case you need to add water to it, or remove it.

How was your humidity prior to now? Are your air cells looking good?

I'm gonna go find a sponge. Do I just move the tray and put it in one of the channels? I already have a peice of felt in the full channels. (I'm using a Brinsea octagon Eco 20, btw)

I am not experienced at all with that model, so I'm not sure where you can put it. But I would think the felt is hampering your surface area of water. Humidity is based on surface area, not on how deep the water is. A cup of water produces more humidity in a large wide bowl than it does in a tall cup. The more area that is in contact the air. Make sense? So if the felt is not completely submerged, it could be wasting space and lessening your humidity.

Would it be ok to open it at this stage in the incubation? The felt is only one peice and its set so the sides fall in both channels.

If you don't have any other way to increase the humidity and you feel like it should be higher, then you have to open it. Its not going to hurt the eggs to open it quickly to do that. It will probably drop the humidity briefly, but it will perk right back up. Take a deep breath first. Lol. And just leave the felt as it is.
