Help!!!! First Timer and I only have one egg left

I need some fast urgent help! I started with 9 eggs and all have died but one. I think I have killed the one I have left. It is day 24 and I could hear chirping and moving around but no pipping.
So...I read many things and they said with the egg not doing any pipping that I needed to help it along.
So...I put a small hole in the egg and I immediately saw bright red blood so I stopped. I put the egg back in incubator with wet towel.
I can see that it's still breathing but that's all now. No chirping or trying to get out of egg.
I pray that I haven't killed it.
PLEASE someone tell me what I need to do! It's my only chick and this is the first time incubating.
I'm heart broken......

Sorry to hear that. At this point there's not much you can do. I don't recommend trying to assist before a chick pips because there isn't much you can do without risking causing a bleed out. After the chick pips, it takes hours before the vascular system shuts down and until that happens, assisting can do more damage than good. Chances aren't good for the chick, but the best thing you can do is give it time for the vascular system to shut down. Then assist a little at a time and stopping any time you see blood or see heavy veining in the membrane.

Thank you for ur response. I'm so upset. I didn't want it to suffocate but now I still may have killed it.
What should I do now? Should I wrap it in a wet towel or what? I want it to survive. I will do whatever I need to do to help it survive.

Keep the humidity up in the bator and watch it. There really isn't much you can do and at day 24 chances are the out come would be the same. If it didn't pip on its own there's a good chance it wouldn't have. It sounds as though the temps in your bator may have been a little low causing a delay in the growth. At what point did the others die? Once the vascular system shuts down you can start an assisted hatch if he's still alive, but the chances of his survival are low. He will probably be too weak. I'll still keep my fingers crossed for him.

When the veining in the membranes start to receed-get small and dissapear, that's when the vascular system is shutting down. It starts shutting down around the air cell first and makes it's way down the egg. When you can start to remove shell w/out seeing veins, get some water and q-tips. Wet the q-tip moisten the membrane and you can see veining better. With tweezers gently start to break away the shell around the pip, if the membrane does not have veining you can gently pull that back too. Work in five minute increments, (unless you run into veining or bleeding-then stop immedietly.) Once you've done a bit replace it to the incubator to rest, get warm and give it a chance to progress on it's own. I usually give 1/2 break time in between helping. Continue that until you are able to free the chick.

So the other's basically made it to lockdown before they died? What kind of incubator are you using, what where your temps and humidity for the first 17 days and when you opened them was there a lot of excess fluid in the egg? We may be able to help you if you decide to try again.

Thank you everyone that has tried to help me. There's no change in my one egg. No movement or sound.
I'm going to give it a few more days and if no change then I'm going to give up on it.
