HELP!!! Fish dying rapidly of unexplained illness---Suspected TB

I am sorry about your fish and following the answers because I have no idea.

I do know there are types of fish that do better in an unheated tank then others.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I would do the same. But remember the size of the tank vs. the size/number of fish. You should only be getting one inch of fish to one gallon of water in the tank. Remember baby fish will grow so don't buy a bunch of tiny fish to fill up the amount of space and then be in a pickle when they get bigger.

I have a 10 gallon tank with only two fish in it. (they're growing!

) A 10 gallon tank can handle 10 inches of fish!

the overcrowding rly depends on type of fish guppys are pretty hardy for tropical fish ive kept 10 of them 2large corry cats and an smaller angel fish in a 10gallon tank they lasted a few yrs so while i know overcrowding is a problem with bigger/more agressive fish personall experience has shown me that in guppys you can crowd them pretty good and as long as they have room to swim/getaway from a more agressive fish which dont happen much with guppys they should be fine i have had mager problems with over crowding neon/cardinal tetras though
10guppys can breed in a 10gallon tank
this is all personal experience not something read from a book or a friend said his friend said
i also completely cleaned my tanks when i cleaned them guppys are very hardy and can stand it if you clean all the gravel i did it 3xs i month when i had them because like i said i did have alot the only problem i ever had was i had to clean the tank alot
ive always bought my fish from the petstore and have never had any kind diseases

I thought it was something like that, cause another one went down last night. Still not sure about euthanazing the whole lot, but am mulling it over. I will take the infected fish to a fish pet store to get it checked over. Thankyou so much for your input everyone, I will let you know what happens.

deformed spines as shown in the photos is also a result of constant inbreeding.
your friend who is rasing these guppys need to replace at least half if not more of her breeders with new breeders. it will start correcting a lot of problems,

guppys in a vase? thats no way to keep fish healthy, is it filtered?
in a 10 gallon tank you really dont want to have as many fish as you put in there. reduce the number by at least half and add filtration.
when using any type of anti biotic or treatment to a tank remove the charcole filter, otherwise the medicine is nuetralized by the carbon.

I had one fish that looked like yours, he was a fancy guppy and shortly after I bought him started getting crooked. I assume it was severe inbreeding as the rest of the fish were fine, lived a long life.

I hope you can figure it out, if not, I think the euthanasia advice is for the best. Poor little guys. Would it be possible to purchase another tank for the tetras (if you plan on getting new fish) because if the tetras are not showing signs of illness, why not keep them? I have always found tetras to be very resilient fish.

I have another tank, but only one filter, and I cant really afford another one cause theyre so expensive over here.
I am suspecting inbreeding, because the tetras all look like normal tetras whilst the guppies all have these wacko spines. I would be more upset to loose tetras, cause they are my more favourite fish.
My neighbour next door, she doesnt breed the guppies; they breed themselves, and she keeps those that dont get eaten, which then continue to breed. I took them cause she had no room, and I was new at looking after fish and wanted something that was interesting. As soon as the colouring came out, I realised I only had 1 female. Shes still alive, but has 4 boys chasing after her (the 5th one is too crook, poor baby). So could stress be another factor?
The tetras seem to be anaffected by all this.
How do you euthanize a fish?

Ok, I'm going to separate the tetras from the guppies and put them in a separate tank. That would leave 6 guppies in 1 10 gallon tank and 10 tetras in another 10 gallon tank.
