Help for a marriage simulation please..

Ehhh... Maybe I'll just send him ahead to open all the doors. Hehehehe

I've also thought of having one of those "Marrying me" ceremonies... or like the guy who married his dog, just so his family could have the celebration...
Maybe I'll marry the dress!

Ya know, in the long run, I think even a dress with that price tag would cost far less money than a husband...

It would depend on the guy. My DH has been worth way more than a dress. But I do understand that not all guys are worth the trouble, and that throwing your self a big party and wearing a once in a lifetime dress would way better.

I like the idea of the horse opening the doors for you.

Yep!

Well... I HAVE been trying to teach him some tricks already... like bowing.. we are 1/3rd of the way there!

And he plays with big barrels rolling them all by himself in the pasture.. something I'm going to get a video of some day soon....
I bet it wouldn't be very hard to have him opening some doors for me!

I LOVE the sound of the flowers. I'll have to try and remember.

There is a seeing eye horse in Texas that can open the doors on the freezer section of the grocery store. So it's just about training.

I fear we're scaring the poor dear. It's a pretend wedding. Let's pretend the fairy-tale is real as well.

If it were up to me, I'd buy a nice, but inexpensive dress. Just because you can afford expensive doesn't mean you have to spend it all. Being me, I'd save the money for a bigger coop, more chickens, a nicer truck, etc.

As it was, I had a simple wedding (Cheap). Didn't need a big affair to get the marriage to 'take'. Just needed a keeper! We've been together 43 years.

When I got married my DSiL made my dress, and the food at the wedding was potluck. We had some friends that had a band, I think that we paid them a 100 bucks for the music. I did buy my veil while I was in Italy, it might have been 100 dollars. I doubt the whole thing cost 2000.00. The only thing that we paid good money for was the photographer. After all that is all that's left when the day is done. I will have been married to the same guy 29 years this coming Sunday.

I do think it is ridiculous the amounts of money that is spent on a one time event. I don't think that there is any reason to spend 10,000s of thousands of dollars to plan a one day event. A big splashy wedding will not make you anymore married. In fact there is a degree of self absorption in planning a self glorifying event. A self absorbed person doesn't make a very good marriage mate. And starting a marriage is debt, is a very bad idea.

When we watch the TV shows about the wedding dress, and shows about weddings, we are being sold a idea of what we are being told to want. It is a marketing tool, for shops like Kleinfeld's, and the dress designer's. I am sure that the economy has effected the sales of high priced luxury items.

I would wear red if I did it again. That will so not happen. I am not going to train another one.

Maybe I just wish that I had worn red the first time.

With the tail and horns, right?

I'm sure that after 29 your DH would agree that it would suit you.

So would the dogs.

X2. My words exactly. I borrowed my wedding dress and between flowers, food and booze it was only like $500 for everything.
