Help for friends hen with back end issues

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this hen, she is an older (5, 6+ years) she had another hen look like this and she died. She doesn't know what to do and I am new (well I had chickens years ago) to chickens again. I have 8week old Light Brahma's

It looks like her lower abdomen is enlarged and she is soiling her self. It can be common in ascites and internal laying or egg yolk peritonitis. Is she eating and drinking? I would keep her cleaned off, and a soapy bath can help with that. Can you see a vet to get an xray of her abdomen to find out if she has fluid or solid material inside her belly?
