Do you have salt? Or better still, Wood shavings is also terrific, and gives good traction.

In the past I have use old horse manure/bedding on the paths from the house and in the paddocks. Works awesome!

I do have salt... but it's not enough for a 200ft driveway. It's hard packed now. So are the walking paths to and from the coop.

Those of you wanting snow are real freaks, I’ll tell ya! That said I am not willing to share. We get most of our precipitation as snow and we are in the middle of a multi year drought and all our wells are dry for over two years now, so I am not just being selfish.
