I wanted to establish a patch of walking onions this year, but they're out of the budget. I posted on the local gardening group's FB page asking if anyone had an abundance that they'd share, and I'm going to go pick them up in an hour.

So far since yesterday I got the old fish tank out, yet to clean it. The mealworms box I have is having so many dead mealworms. I am not sure why they are dead.

A threat on this new mealworms journey is a great idea.

It is not a good day today because I have to decide this morning to take my sick hen Mint out of her misery at the Vet or do the deed myself. First time ever if I am brave enough to do the "off with the head" business. Inevitably every road lead to Rome.

I've never seen chickens brought in for a blessing on St. Francis' Day! That's so cool! I need to do this. One of our dogs is picky about other dogs so I just bring in their collars to be blessed. I could certainly bring a hen or two in a carrier.

Nah, take a rooster! The crowing is a big hit and our priest LOVES it!
