Help! Found Bird! What is it?

My eldest son found this bird outside our window, right next to the house. ya we live in the country but this? It looks like a baby chicken, but from where? We have chicks but it's not one of ours. not the neighbors! It's only about a day or two it still has it's egg tooth. It's also really soft

I don't suppose you happen to own a retriever breed of dog, by any chance?

If so, that might explain how the chick travelled ....

DId you ever find out what kind of chick that was? We found one a couple of years ago and it ended up being a pheasant chick.

, how would it get waaaaay over here? It can hardly walk. and I tried feeding it mushy chick food and it's pecking was off, it was pecking toward the right?

I bet it was either picked up by a roaming dog and walked over. My daughter suggests that the fairies brought it to you as a gift. I am going with the fairies - It sounds kind of fun and romantic! Most likely something else brought it to you. It is just lucky it found you to care for it.
