I think my goose is having serious trouble.
A few weeks ago she would "throw up" her food after eating. It would just kind of explode everywhere every 10 seconds or so and then she would go eat and drink more. I took her off that food and bought the waterfowl feed my feedstore has, the problem didn't resolve. We don't have any grass so she gets things like lettuce and watermelon as her green source. I started giving her as much "green" as she would eat and the problem resolved. Last week we were house sitting and she spent lots of time eating their lush green grass in place of most of her house greens. We have been home for 4 days, and last night she started puking things up again. But this time it's even worse. If she tips her head down, water comes out of her mouth. She won't eat anything because when she tips her head down the water pours out washing the food out of her mouth and now she has just given up. She won't even bother with the lettuce leaves - which are her favorite, she gets noticeably excited when she sees lettuce and devours it like crazy, and now she just looks at it and acts sad and pathetic. I have no idea what to do! I don't have any vets near me that know anything about geese. Can anyone help me??

Sounds like some food is stuck in her stomach. Does she have access to grit? Without it she won't be able to process the grass she's eaten. It'll just clump and form an indigestible ball, blocking all other food from passing. If that's her problem, the grass is fermenting now, causing her great discomfort. I have no idea what to do about it except get her to a vet.

It could also be hardware disease: that she's eaten something indigestible like a nail or a piece of string. Nothing but surgery will give her a chance to fight that.

So sorry about her, I hope it's something else and that she'll recover quickly.

She does have access to grit - is it possible that she doesn't know she needs it??
I took her to the vet and they didn't find anything unusual in the x-rays. They passed a feeding tube down her esophagus into her stomach and couldn't find any blockages of any kind. Just some pellet food in her stomach. They really don't know what is causing this. They de-wormed her and sent her home with antibiotics to try to cover all the bases. She still isn't acting normal, but she doesn't seem as dire as she did this afternoon.

Hopefully she gets better fast!

I hope so too KuKu,
