Help half blind chick

I've put a thread up in raising chicks forum, I'm hoping other people may find it informative.

I've only found a few threads about blind chickens & I think others would appreciate the info if they end up with a blind baby.
Even if it turns out bad, its still informative.
Thanks :-)

Thanks for this info! How's your little fellow doing now? Can he manage to feed himself? We did an incubator hatch, still have 3 late bloomers in on Day 23 still in the incubator. So far we got 2 Sizzles, 1 had a bum leg but with 2 days of physical therapy it's better. We got 1 Silkie, perfect except the right eyelid is shut. No oozing or indication of an infection. When this one hatched it was crashing head first into the sides and floor of the incubator. It's our first Silkie so we didn't know if this was normal as it has a long neck.

We retrieved it from the incubator with the bum leg sizzle

and put them in the brooder box with the single healthy sizzle that hatched.
It's really shy,

although it's only 3 days old. It hangs out by itself. We had the chicks out to watch TV with us when we realized that it's eyelid was not opening

. Same thing this morning. Oh well, it can see with the other eye, should be fine. We are happy it has one eye.

We have 3 baby chicks now. This whole hatching thing is terribly stressful

Hope all goes well with your chick! He's really adorable!
