Help! Has My Coturnix Quail Gone MAD?!

Ye, I thought the chicken feed might be bad but then I looked on the back of the package and it said 15% protein so I sometime mix a bit of my chicken's eggs with it so it has 20%

They're regular Coturnix, and they have wire but there's a little shed inside the cage filled with hay. I always check but no eggs, and that is starting to worry me since its almost the end of winter and the sun is coming out a lot now. But I'll wait till' spring to address that problem.

Also, I put the angsty female back in her own little cage and It will be 1 wk anniversary of that tomorrow so I've got my fingers crossed that all will be well to put her back with the others tomorrow.:barnie:fl

Btw, the breeder we got them from said that the male was 6 wks old and we've had them for 5 wks now... Should he be ready to mate yet now? Because he hasn't started to crow yet... :hmm

Does he crow? You can check his vent for foam. If foam comes out then he is mature and ready for breeding.
I actually just got my first egg from my new bloodlines today! They are only 6 weeks old. I feed them DuMOR Chick Starter 24%, 50 lb bag from Tractor Supply. Maybe you should try it! It's made for quails and Turkeys and has them on the bag Feed.jpg !

Thank u so much for your help everyone! YEHEHEEEEEAH!!!!!

i think that you actually need more birds. They get stressed and territorial if in small numbers. 3/ sq ft seems to make the devils happy. Take the aggressive one out, change the bedding add in a couple of females and then reintroduce her. This should make everyone happy. Seems opposite to intuition, but it works for everyone that I’ve read about trying it. Also try putting things in the cage to go behind if someone wants to get away from a bully
