Can't make out the pic clearly but from what my eyes tell me it's the umbilical cord separating. Corn Starch or Flour will helps stop the "bleeding". Looks like it separated before the umbilical cord "dried" up.
I put cornstarch on it and it seemed to stop. My chick has not stopped talking since before he hashed and he is hopping around everywhere has been since he hatched so I'm hoping that's a good sign
The chick stopped bleeding after I put the cornstarch on. I made the additional thread under emergencies out of desperation. Thank you everyone! I do believe it was the umbilical cord not completely dried out. My little love made it through the night and is fluffing out!
I didn't take a picture this morning but will update later today!
Here's Lucky, the star of the post at the very bottom. Think it may be a BCM or French Maran. I don't know the difference. Pretty sure it will be my only hatch from 24 shipped eggs so I went to TSC and picked up some buddies. TSC and their suppliers are absolutely awful with labeling breeds correctly. Tried saying Guineas we're white crested black polish Anyway, the four other chicks are (maybe) GLW, calico princess, or Australorp. Your thoughts. Also, Lucky is the tiniest thing I've ever seen in my life. It's hard to tell the size difference in these pictures.
