My cats are very healthy...except for the herpes and they are on a lot of meds to keep that from harming them. I am always the first to take a pet to the vet. I love and care for all 32 of my pets, I can't have kids so they are my kids. Thank you for not passing judgement on me because it would hurt me terribly. If I lost one of my "babies" I would be a total wreck.

I once had a pet rat that died from a tumar and I cried myself to sleep every night for a month.

I've had a lot of people email me to tell me not to give a cat aspirin so I want to clear this up:

I cut 1/4 off and tried to give it to him, he bite it and spit half (if not more) of it back out. That's not enough to hurt him. I paged my vet and she called me back and said that if I gave him a whole one then it would hurt him but the small amount that he got was not bad at all.

I don't want people to think that I just poisoned my cat because I didn't.

Edited to add: I do understand everyone's concern and I appreciate it. I know a lot of people on here have done things that weren't that smart. No ones perfect, we all make mistakes.

i sure hope you don't feel like anyone is jumping on you. From here it looks like everyone is jumping to help you. You must have a lot of good karma built up for everyone to care so much. Glad your kid is feeling better.

Newest update:

He's sleeping and purring and eating like crazy. I have him in the guest bathroom aka hospital for all my pets that get sick.

I don't want to let him out tonight because I want to make sure he pees since he has a history of UTI.

His cloudy eye looks 90% better. I flushed it with water and put antibiotic ointment on it. Not in his eye but very the lids and smeared on the crack of the eye lids. The cloudiness is almost completely cleared.

I'm going to call the vet as soon as they open tomorrow and see if they think I should bring him in. I'll probably sleep in the bath tub in the "hospital" tonight to make sure he's ok.

I am a total animal lover and I do all that's within me to care for my furry/feathered family. I don't want to sound cheap because I'm not. I've spent money to get other people's pets fixed when they didn't have the money to do it. I believe that God put these special lil souls on this earth to love us and I love them all. It drives DH crazy but I will not sit by and watch a poor animal suffer. I'm also in the process of taming 3 feral cats so that I can get them fixed and find them good homes.

Southern.......I am just now getting to read your post on the poor kitty. I am so glad he is feeling better. More than likely, he was in a fight, got his eye scratched, ( or pecked by a chicken and I KNOW how this hurts, been there done that) LOL
Anyways....he was feeling under the weather, and just wanted to rest in peace and quiet. Sometimes our first instinct as "parents" is to hold, cuddle, and woo over them, and this is really the worst thing for them. We cant help it, we are human! LOL
I am so glad to hear he is feeling better...please keep us posted on his getting better! Oh, and IF you sleep in the tub,( I have done this too) Put a rubber mat in the bottom.....so you dont slip and slide!!

Feline Herpes??? I am a CVT for almost 15 years ( I hate to admit the 15 years part) and Im not sure what herpes in cats is....???
