HELP, HELP I SCREWED UP.. he's still alive

Peeping is their noise, pipping is part of the hatch process. There is no term used call cracked, crack, or cracking.

You have:

Embryo growth
Internal PIPPING (where the bill breaks through the membrane into the air cell)
External PIPPING (where they create the pyramid shaped first hole in the shell)
Zipping (is the process of turning inside the shell and pipping additional spots allowing the top to move away from the bottom of the egg and freeing the hatchling.)

You don't assist in these stages unless you are a seasoned hatcher (in my Oppinion) you can cause a great deal of damage in a very short amount of time if you are going too fast, in the wrong spot, too large, too soon.

HA HA HA HA OK, I always called it Cracking and I always thought Pipping is when they make there Loud Peeping noises. HA HA boy I got all that wrong.

Ok well were still waiting, nothing going on yet. Boy so glad chickens are a lot quicker.. I see a couple of the other eggs are moving, Well here's a question, why do some of the eggs very slowly roll and others shake like they are in an earthquake?

If you look you will notice pIpping and pEEping are spelled differently

Learn the terminology so that you don't become confused when reading online or when chatting with others about hatching. This way there is no confusion on your part and you mistake anything you read.

I hadn't tuned in for about a day, and Oh WOW!!.....I'm so excited right along with you!! :D
...looking at my little rescued duckling sleeping on the other side of the couch...
They are the best!! S/he is an adorable constant companion, with an ever-growing fan club...

Here's Luckee's post...might be a fun distraction...

Your babies are going to do great!
They'll be healthy and you'll make a wonderful momma duck!
Just focus on fixing up the "nursery" for when they make their debut...

I have chicken eggs that are 2 days into their "wiggle" stage now
...and i'm still working the bugs out of my new hatching chamber!!!
AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I'm off to work on it more so I can move them over before they start internally pipping.
(it is a race i MUST win!) :p

Good luck! Will be checking for updates on your little ones!

OMG, I love the fishes on the bottom of the bath tub. HA HA HA HA.. OH I hope he comes out soon. I CAN"T WAIT.

AND I GOT 10 MORE OTHERS TO GO, THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY LONG THREAD.. HA HAHAHA.... I wonder how long I should wait before coming to the conclusion, he's not going to make it? I'm more worried now because the one I opened, was sooo sticky...What if he's having the same problem of being sticky?? OH MAN, not sure how much I can take before they'll have to rush me to the hospital.. My chin is bruised from staring, I have it resting on the top of the incubator.. My eyes think they are seeing things but when I take another look it's not what I thought I saw. Come on KIDS....

First time for call ducks and this has to take sooooo long.. Come on little guy, get the heck out of there so I can start breathing again. Hope he comes out today because tomorrow I will not be able to stare at him. LOL, I have to go to work. Probably for the best to preoccupied my mind and keep me from staring..

The rule of thumb for chickens is 5 days after the due date, does that same rule apply for ducks? I wish I could at least hear him make a noise, THAT would be sooo cool.

Will keep all of you's updated as soon as there is an update.. LOL..

well at least there is some funny parts to this story ! I have to tell you I cracked up when you had the pipping vs. peeping conversation and you said I just thought you spelled it differently .. I roared .. my Grand daughter came to see why I was laughing so hard !!
