On Sunday my female duck got attacked by a bald eagle. Took her to the vet and she had to have surgery. She had to get stitches. She’s home now and she’s on 3 different medications. She is away from my male duck and she’s in the house in a kettle. I have a heating pad in the kettle with her for her to stay warm and She is wrapped up in a towel also. She’s drinking water with no problem but she’s not eating. I can’t afford to take to her the vet again. Cuz her first visit cost over thousand dollar. I been tryin her favorite treats and cracked corn, but no interest. I don’t want to force feed her but if I have to I will. Please help!

I'm sorry she's not feeling well.

What three medicines are you giving her?

She could be depressed. We had to separate one of our ducks from the others for a bit, and she became so sad and uninterested in everything. Is there anyway you could put a separate enclosure next to her with a friend in it? This way the friend can't hurt her, but she'll still have company. Hope she feels better soon!

Sick animals don't eat and I'm thinking you shouldn't have a heat pad or towel wrapped around her either. She needs to be warm but not too warm. House temperature is fine.
Give her wet regular feed and water. Leave her alone to recover.

I'd call the vet. A call will certainly be free due to your recent office visit and procedure. You should have free access to the vet or at least an experienced tech. Also, the idea of moving the hospital out to the rest of her flock might help, they do bond for life I understand. good luck!

I called the vet and I made another appointment with em little later today. My mom is gonna take her and I hope and pray she will make a full recovery and live a long and happy life.

Glad you can take her back to the vet. Have your mom ask the vet about tube feeding, it's really easy and it's something I think every poultry owner should learn how to do.

Hope the vet visit goes well. :fl
