Hello, I am grasping at straws to come up with something that will diagnose/save my little "Lillith". She is a 1 yr old call duck. Here are my observations:
Lillith has been "off" on one foot for several weeks. Not lame, no visible injuries. Just doesn't keep up with the others when they're running around. Otherwise she walks fine and all else has been fine. Toenails all good, no bumblefoot. ALL normal looking on the foot and leg. 2 days ago she became totally immobile. Her legs look perfect...just like everyone else's. She is still eating and drinking (I added yogurt to her normal diet of scratch, meatbird feed, and mealworms). I have separated her -she is in a dog crate by herself, but next to the others so she doesn't get stressed about being away from them. The ONLY thing I can observe is her crop area seems to be larger/heavier feeling than the others. She acts like she wants to get up but then falls to the ground. Compound her problems with the horrible weather we're having now-it's below zero at night. I am bringing them (all 5) in the semi-heated garage at night now, starting last night. I thought Lillith might be gone this morning, but no, she even pecked at my fingers. We have no vets that can help except the University of Illinois, and you can't get out of there for under $1000 (I have done it with dogs/cats enough to know). Again, I can see NO outward sign of problems. Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a loss....TIA
