Help! Hen is still on egg and its day 28!

My hen has been sitting on one egg now for 28 days! It still hasn't hatched. Will she eventually stop sitting on it or do I need to take it away from her and throw it out when she gets up to eat! Thanks for your help!

You should get that egg away from her immediately and discard it. Be carefull as it may be rotten and explode. You don't want that to happen. She should give up the nest in a few days after the egg is gone.........Pop

Well I went down to the coop this morning to take the egg away from her and it had hatched this morning...sweet baby chick!!!!!

She couldn't have been sitting on it for 28 days (unless it's a guinea!). Maybe she started later than you realized.
