We had a dog once that convinced everyone in the family that she was theirs. It wasn’t until long after she was gone that we started taking notes & realized she was cheating on all of us.

I have one dog & one cat right now that have picked someone other than me as their person. I find it a little hurtful that they didn’t pick me, but I try not to hold it against them. Those ones always come to me when they’re sick.

My old roommate used to call Scraps "Traitor" because he rescued the cat from the shelter, then the cat chose me. My cat Kaijyu chose him, but he didn't really like Kaijyu.
