Help!!! I can get my call ducks to hatching day then they die. WHY

Most call ducks need help hatching because their heads are really round and they have very small bills which causes issues with them zipping. You can help them by making a bigger hole for them to zip through or you may need to zip the egg for them.

it didnt cause the inside to stick to them? i will try anything it is breaking my heart to loose this battle of the hatch

All I know is they were all dieing and now their not... I understand what they are saying about shrink wrap but it isnt affecting mine at all.... once they break a littl hole in it they come right out... All I can say is try it and see for yourself and make a judgement according to what happens... I will continue to use the small hole... It helps me also see if they are alive... i talk to the incubator and I see the egg wiggling and I can see them moving inside also... I lost so many before I started doing this...

ok i have picked at the shell. I had to put some worm water on him to get some of the sticky loose. not all of the yoke is in so i left the shell loose but still aroud his bottom. He looks so weak and is laying there. but he is alive. Now what - i have him in the bator resting. should i just let him be?

do yo mist them everyday? or just watch the moisture? do you rotate by hand? i heard you should hatch them in an egg carton so they don't roll. i dont do that But would it help? I am sorry it just has me puzzled.

If the yolk hasnt been absorbed then it needs to be... I just let it absorb it.... then i just wait till it unattaches from the egg.. Then it will kind of look like it moves alittle then stops as though it it dead but its not.. just resting... after a few hours it starts to move more but still rests A LOT.. after 24 hours it will be fluffy and cute...

I also used a heating pad for a few.. i placed a pillow case on my heating pad and then a layer of tissues.. then let them dry off with the heat under them... I placed a tissue on top to so they feel more sucure... This is what I do.. not sure if any body else does it this way but I have been...

I do not mist them at all during incubation or hatching.. I did try to though and none of them hatched so I dont do it... But others have did this and it worked for them...

The second picture is one almost out.. He stayed like that for at least 2 hours I kept checking on him and he moved when I talked to him... I kept thinking he was going to die but he was just resting... Hope these pics and info helps alittle..

With some of our eggs when they get so far like with the first cracking if they are in their for awhile well make and actual hole and if it continues to not be able to get out well crack the shell all the way around the outside in a circle but not pushing hard just enough, and then they normally push themselves out, hope this helps!!!
