Help!!! I can get my call ducks to hatching day then they die. WHY

What my dad was doing , which he just showed me, is when they had a hard time he would crack the the shell right around the fat end, so they wouldn't have to push as hard to pop out, even if that wasn't enough just pulling the shell down so the crack would separate and then the duck would just have to come out of the top part. Idk if that is recommended not going to lie i winced a little, but hes been doing this longer then me and they seem healthy and fine afterwards :)

This helps a lot he is resting but he perks up when i peep at him. he still doesnt get up and about but he looks better all the time. do you use the heating pad in the incubator? thank you all for all of your helpful ideals. I will keep you posted on baby bibbed.

He doesn't need a heating pad while he is in the incubator. Last week I had put 2 muscovy eggs in with silkie eggs to hatch, the day after lock down( for the ducks, the silkies were hatched the week before) my incubator 's humidity system died, I didn't know when it went and was freaked out. I started out putting a small hole in the large end of both eggs and as the day wore on I pecked away at the shell, if I saw blood I stopped and replaced it in the incubator for a while, it took about 13 hours but I got them out of the egg, When all that was left was the "cup" of the small end, I let them finish./ they both are doing well.

Once they are out of the egg for a couple of hours I take them out of the incubator and lay them on the heating pad... they seemed to like it and would continue to dry off and get fluffy within a few more hours... I do this because otherwise they just keep moving here and there in the incubator and moving the other eggs thats are in lockdown...

This is one on a pillow case covered heating pad.. I place a couple tissues or washclothe over them just so they feel more secure..

And this is 2 other ones that were on the heating pad for a couple hours almost all dry.... I did the first two without a pillow case but realized they shed quit abit so i now use a pillow case...

well he is still alive but doesn't sit up he flops over like he has no control. what do i do
