Whitey butt, (his name) is sick with a second respiratory infection! He was the one who was attacked by an animal, and head was "scalped" then met the new girls that were seperated that seemed fine (yes for almost a month seperated on the other side of the yard for fear that they were sick.) So he got a respiratory infection I thought Coryza and I treated with Amoxicillan 250 by mouth 2x per day and he went back to the sunroom... he was gurgling badly and I was shocked that he cleared up. So on day 6 he went back with the same girls and bam... with in a few more days slight gurgling again!! So...question 1. do i need to separate him from them?
they don't get sick... 2. I went to the tractor supply(over an hour away and bought oxytetracycline powder... how much do I use to dilute in their 1 gallon feeder? 3. how can I prevent this? None of my flock that I have had ever got sick before...(try giving oral solution to a rooster living in your sunroom...)

My drug of choice for upper respiratory infections is Tylan-50. 1 cc injected into the breast muscle each day, and then for 3 days after the symptoms disappear.
