help i dont know what to do *** UPDATED WITH PICS PLEASE TAKE A LOOK *

They are the same active ingredient, you just need to be careful with dosing. Use a little less than a quarter of an adult 325 mg tab and crush it up the same way. You just want to make sure that she is not actively bleeding any more before you give it to her because aspirin thins the blood and reduces clotting.

awesome thank you all! I just rinsed her wound again... and put a huge glob of triple antibiotic ointment on it.. and put gauze on it. Gave her just a little tiny chunk of normal aspirin in her water and now she is resting in a cage in the house. Poor baby! I just feel so terrible for her. You all are very kind for helping me, once again thank you so much.

come to think of it, I just took a look at her again and she has skin and gashes on both of her sides right under her wings... with tons of feathers missing! I have pictures now take a look please and let me know what you think tried to get her.. Im thinking it might of been the roo mating with her..

Triple antibiotic on wounds as you've done. Wounds can be cleansed with 9 parts water/1 part betadine.

For pain, 1 baby aspirin (81 mg) per cup of drinking water, changed out to fresh batch twice daily. Of course, you can quarter a regular 325 mg to get same dosage (as noted above, can give so long as she is not actively bleeding and if you don't suspect internal bleeding). Do not substitute other pain relievers without being sure they are okay for chickens. If the pain and trauma has caused her not to eat or drink well, you can cut up bits of favorite fruits and dunk in the aspirin water and try to hand feed her. If she accepts this, then she will begin to get a bit of pain relief which should encourage her to eat/drink on her own.

Lots of TLC, quiet, comfortably warm cozy comfy place to rest with all her creature comforts close at hand.

Electrolytes if you suspect she is shocky at all - in a pinch you can spritz a little Pedialtye or Gatorade on a favorite treat. A drop or two of Rescue Remedy in her water or on a bit of grape or blueberry or whatever she likes may help create a calming effect to help her heal.

Treats to lift her spirits.

JJ
