What are they being kept in? They need heat or they won't survive. They won't be able to digest the milk without heat either.Yes I've prepared myself for whats to come. got up early to feed they were cold but still alive and happy. one of them mainly happy tho. and I'm always one to return them to where they live bc thats how god made them to be wild not as pets. ( even tho they would make really cute pets) and the mom will not be returning I found her dead right next to the nest.
Ok, I have them in a kleenex box with shreaded paper. I have a heating pad for reptiles but I'm nervous about putting it underneath bc I don't want them to overheat? do you have any suggestions? What are they being kept in? Hantavirus only occurs in 4 species--deer mice, white-footed mice, rice rats, and cotton rats. The OP has kangaroo rats. Mice are also no more dirty than any animal, really. In fact they are quite clean--they spend a lot of time grooming themselves.I was told they can carry hantavirus and to never try to save them. Mice are dirty.
Best wishes.
Maybe I’m missing something? Why save the lives of rodents?I found This "nest" (hole in the ground under a piece of metal) with 3 baby mice only a couple days old still pinkies. I don't know what to feed them I live 1 hour away from the store and I need something to feed them
