I was wondering when my chicks are around 8 weeks old or so if i could put them with my other girls that are now 12 weeks older? I wondered if it would go over easier since the older girls are just three months older and not older hens. I just had to have 6 more chicks

So the older girls would be 20 week old when they younger girls are 8 weeks old.

What would you do to make an easy transision for them?

Here is just 2 examples of why i had to have 6 more chicks!

I did the same thing. The older ones are 12 weeks and the little ones are 3,4, & 5 wks. I moved the little ones to a caged brooder inside the coop so they can see each other. I let the little ones out to run inside the coop when the older girls are in the run. I did have a few older ones come in while putting a few straggler 5 wk olds back in the brooder and they were immediately picked on. I guess I'll have to wait and see how they do in a few more weeks but Hopefully being together is helpful:)
