It's usually a bad idea to brood ducks and chicks together because chicks need a dry environment and ducks always end up with a wet one. It really would be best to get another duck if you can find any ducklings locally. When he grows up he (if it's a he) will think he's a chicken and will mount your poor hens which will probably result in death for them. If it's a she it will probably be mean to your chickens. They are so cute! Can his company be the two black chicks that snuggle up with him now? They seem to be non aggressive and happy together. I thought they were barred rock but now I'm not sure.
