I have a grey 12 week old silkie bantam that was supposed to be a hen, but I believe is a roo.The comb is u shaped and quite large, and has red bumps on it, and the wattles are much larger than the other chicks, and beginning to redden, and the crest is slicked back and the tail is curved.I really believe it is a rooster, but can't keep one , so thought I would ask.

I does have a roo looking comb forming but like sourland said they can be tricky. Can you take a full body picture of it standing broadside so we can see the stance and saddle/tail?

Ya I'm leaning towards cockerel but silkies are really hard to sex so dont get rid of it till you know for sure!

It was a boy. he was so nice, untill we found out that our only other silkie was a boy, then about a month after that, they turned on eachother, and would peck and occasionally flog us. we ended up rehoming both of them where they could live with hens, and be permanately seperated (they went to different homes), but now I have another suspected roo. yay. thank you all for helping
