I have one of those too and was thinking of doing the same thing... Can you please tell me exacly how you did it? I was measuring yesterday and it seems that when the trays turn the top tray only has about 1 - 2 inches clearence from the top... does that matter?
Also, what did you use to cover the screw holes?

Thanks.

You don't move the top tray. You just move the 2 bottom ones. I didn't cover the holes, just left them open I don't think those little holes will hurt. I will get the measurements.

Here is a link to where I got my measurements. It works . https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=162993

Hi Josh...

Ok so I measured my 1266 bator and it looks like if I want to set the trays exacly the way the 1202 measures, then the top tray would have to be moved about 1 inch... So you didn't move the first tray and yours is working good?? (if I don't have to I won't move the first tray on mine either... I figure the less extra "holes" the better) Thanks and please let me know...

I also have another question for you if you don't mind and since you have the model as I do... There are two holes in the top of the left side, one for a thermometer and another one for a hygrometer... Which one do you use for thermometer and which one do you use for the hygrometer??

thanks for your help...

My top tray is at 14". I didn't move the first tray. Just the to lower trays. The to on the bottom are really close thouogh. My thermometer is on the right side facing the front of the bator. And as far as they go I don't use that one. It shows like 105. But the one inside is like 101. I bought a digital thermometer from wal mart. It has a out side read out, inside read out, and a Humidity reading. I also have a digital on the bottom that reads humidity and temp. I put the one from wally world on the top shelf and ran the prob to the bottom hatching level and put it in a water wiggler. So i have one reading air temp on top and bottom and a wiggler temp. And humidity on top and bottom. If these measurements wont work for you, just take the shelves out and look and the rod running down the ceneter in the back. It will have a bunch of holes in it and you can move your trays till you get them where you need them. If you need anymore help let me know I will try my best. I will see If I can find the thermomitor I used and post a link. Th eonely reason I'm using one on top and one on bottom is because I had the one and the other came with the bator Or I would just use the one I had.
