My rose comb bantam has been on 3 eggs and 2 hatched 3 days ago. I went out this morning to find her teaching those 2 to eat and the 3rd egg was abondened. I took it out to toss it and it was cold but the baby had started a small pip. I placed it in a cup of warm water and no movement for about a full minute and then I thought I saw some movement so I got a warm wet cloth and wrapped the egg while I did a c section!! I quickly turned on my electric frying pan and warmed him up while my incubator was warming. I now have him in the warmed incubator and he seems weak, but alive. Question. Do I raise him or do I give him back to her and when as it is 35 degrees right now!!

Once he is out and fluffed up you can try and put the new one under her at night, but be ready to watch because she will know it's something new and may attack it.

I would keep him in and raise him for a couple days to get his strength back. Then if you want you could try and sneek the chick back under her.

Thanks! I think I will take care of him a few days and see how it goes. I am afraid she would notice his frail condition right now. OHHHH I hope he makes it!!
