Great news! So happy to hear all is well and congrats on your dinner and well deserved wine xD
Yes temperature can affect digestion. Since as a baby they can't keep their body temperature themselves they rely on mom for heat. This becomes a problem when they eat cold food because they don't have enough energy to heat themselves and their food. So if they eat cold food or water it starts to cool their internal organs and that will slow digestion and everything around it. I've seen a few people kill baby birds with ice water because they were thirsty and bring them to me wondering why they're suddenly dying. A little cold food doesn't hurt as they get a little older but for tiny babies warm food really goes a long way
But hey you really love that little birdie of yours she's going to live because of all your dedication and hard work and I admire that! Well done! And when she grows up she's going to be so grateful and loving for all the time she's spent with you
