Hey Everybody,

I just received the Thermostat for my home made incubator, but I need help.

Do I just hook up the power supply up then the two wires coming from the bulb to the heating holes, or will the bulb need a separate power supply, so basically will power flow through the thermostat to the bulb?

Thanks,
Kelsey

Can't help you with a thermostat, but I have a fellow BYC aquaintance who is using a light with a DIMMER SWITCH. She just worked with the dimmer switch until the temp was perfect.

Post in (or ask the mods to move this thread to) the "Incubating and Hatching Eggs" section of the forum -- that i where all the thermostat-wiring geeks hang out <g> and they will definitely solve your problem for you, probably extremely promptly

Good luck, have fun,

Unless it's a strange setup... 1/2 is your incoming (plug into the wall), 3/4 is the sensor wire, and 5/6 is the wiring to the heat source. Sensor connected to 3/4 trips a switch/relay, applying power from 1/2 to 5/6.

So no need for an alternate power source... your thermostat is the power source. Somewhere on the thermostat it should say what it's rated for... so you need to be sure that the heat source (or cooling source) doesn't draw more power than the thermostat can handle.
