help - i need the simplest coop idea possible

Working on this little thing was so fun this weekend! I can't wait to add more next weekend! The best part was that my little chicks were with me out in the yard hanging out the whole time I worked.

Are the small holes on the shelter wired? If not, I would do so!

Thanks! This week I need to get some shingles, make a cute sign, and find bright colored crates for the interior. Th holes are not wired but I will if that is a safety issue. Out of curiosity what could get in a little hole like that?

Racoons have been known to reach in through chicken wire and grab the head of an unsuspecting sleeping chicken and pull the chickens head off through the wire. Not saying a coon could reach your chickens unless you have a roost and they are roosting near the hole. Rats and mice like chicken food I would not want to leave a buffet out for them 24/7. Lastly snakes they could definetly get into that hole. Some snakes eat chickens some snakes will only eat the eggs....not sure what kind of snakes you have around where you live. If you decide to cover them use Hardware cloth NOT chicken wire.....chicken wire is to keep chickens in not keep predators out.
